The Agricultural company

At 400 metres above sea level, where nature has always expressed its generosity, lies Tenuta De Luca. Our agricultural company is located among the hills of the Sub-Apennine Dauno of the Alto Tavoliere delle Puglie and specialises in the cultivation of wheat, olives and almonds.

 The territory

Referred to as the 'granary of Italy', the Alto Tavoliere delle Puglie represents the second largest plain in our peninsula. Here, sun, wind and scents mingle to offer much of the excellence of the Italian agricultural and food panorama.

Passion

Passion is the real driving force that, for three generations, has pushed us to take care of our fields and our centuries-old olive trees. Passed down to us from our grandparents, it has allowed us over time to develop various agronomic skills for better crop management.

Technologies

We make use of the best innovative technologies offered by the food processing professionals in our region. This is our way of guaranteeing quality, stability and traceability on your table.

How we work

Our EVO oil

Tenuta De Luca extra virgin olive oil is the synthesis of our thinking.
It is from our centuries-old trees that our philosophy of life takes its cue; like them, ours is a philosophy of sincerity, authenticity, health and substance.

1. The olive

The main element that makes our oil unique is the olive itself. It is a prized cultivar imported from France in the 1700s that finds the ideal microclimate for its development in the Subappennino Dauno:
The "Peranzana".

2. The harvest phase

We harvest our olives in October once they have reached the right degree of ripeness. Harvesting is carried out mechanically, paying the utmost attention to the integrity of the drupe.

3. The crushing

Within the first 12 hours of harvesting, the olives are transported to our trusted oil mill where they are washed and skilfully pressed to encourage a greater release of polyphenols. The latter, as natural antioxidants, accentuate the fruity aroma and improve oxidation stability.

4. The kneading process

During this step, the olive paste is mixed slowly and continuously without ever exceeding a temperature of 27°C in order not to alter the product's properties.

5. The cold extraction

At this stage when the oil is separated from the water and solid components, many precautions are observed to make the finished product clear and bring out its aromas and fragrances.

6.The tasting at the table

Tenuta De Luca's extra virgin olive oil presents itself as a green oil with a fruity flavour and strong aroma. Thanks to its low acidity, it is particularly suitable for dressing raw dishes.
The tasting phase is dedicated to you and the sensations that Tenuta De Luca will offer you. Tell us about it, we look forward to your feedback!

Our Almonds

Rich in unsaturated fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins, they help reduce cholesterol and neutralise free radicals.

History and Characteristics

As the oldest fruit in the Mediterranean, the almond has been considered sacred by many peoples since ancient times because of its properties and benefits. Not only are almonds consumed fresh, but they are often processed into oil and milk. We grow them in various cultivars, such as Tuono, Raspa, Genco and Trullo, varieties harvested by hand in August and September. After the hulling, which is the removal of the husk, our almonds are dried in the sun, then bagged and finally sold and delivered directly to the customer.

Use and Benefits

Almond milk

Used for both proper nutrition and cosmetics, almond milk has considerable beneficial properties for the nervous system due to the presence of magnesium, which helps relieve stress and fatigue. Thanks to its "good" omega-3 fatty acids, it has anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, its high calcium content enables almond milk to invigorate and strengthen the well-being of our bones.

Almond oil

Because it is rich in fats, minerals and vitamins, almond oil is particularly suitable as a massage oil.
Due to the presence of oleic acid and linoleic acid, this ingredient is often found in anti-ageing, anti-stretch mark and anti-cellulite creams.
Similar to argan oil, sweet almond oil has an elasticising and repairing effect on the skin, soothing irritation and providing instant softness and hydration when applied pure to the skin.
Linoleic acid also has a beneficial effect on the treatment of acne and certain dermatitis, such as seborrhoeic eczema.
Rich in Vitamin E, Vitamin B, phytosterols and antioxidant substances, almond oil prevents skin ageing and contributes to tissue regeneration.

Arable fields

As per good practice, in the rest of our fields we sow and harvest different types of crops such as Cereals, Legumes and Spices in rotation every year. This process allows us to maintain and optimise the fertility of our soil to ensure - all things being equal - a better yield that offers you a wider range of high quality products.
